Parking Garage: Open 8:00 a.m. - Close 5:15 p.m. 

Parking fee: $10.00

Visitor Center: Open 9:00 a.m. -- Close 5:00 p.m. (Tickets must be purchased by 4:15 p.m. for access)


Visit Hoover Dam - Planning Your Visit

Note: If you plan on taking one of the guided tours, and want to discover all the other features at Hoover Dam (not included on the guided tours), plan about two hours or more for your entire visit.

There are two tours available when you visit Hoover Dam: the Powerplant Tour, and the Dam Tour.


Powerplant Tour

The Powerplant Tour offers a combination of presentations by Reclamation guides, audio and film presentations, exhibits, and other media.

The tour provides a comprehensive view of the massive dam and its operations, and highlights several unique features around the site.

The length of the tour is approximately thirty minutes.

Tickets for this tour may be purchased on-site from 9:00 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. (Pacific Time), or through the ticket vendor - Denison Parking.


Hoover Dam Tour

The Hoover Dam Tour offers guided exploration into less known parts of the dam.

Included is a 1-hour guided tour of the powerplant and passageways within the dam itself, and admission to the Visitor Center.

The guided tour is offered on a first come, first served basis and only 20 people are allowed on each tour.

There are no reservations taken for this tour; be prepared to purchase tickets when you arrive at the Hoover Dam.

  • First Powerplant Tour departs at 9:25 a.m.
  • Last Powerplant Tour departs at 3:55 p.m.

Hoover Dam Tour Hours of Operations

  • First Dam Tour departs at 9:30 a.m.
  • Last Dam Tour departs at 3:30 p.m.

Dam Tours (limited to 20 people per tour) may sell-out a couple hours in advance of the last tour.


Visitor Center Hours of Operations:

Last Visitor Center ticket is sold at 4:15 p.m. Tickets sold from 3:45-4:15 p.m. are for Visitor Center Admission only.

Note: The Hoover Dam Visitor Center is open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas days.
